Steven Payne is a Missouri attorney with more than a decade of courtroom and litigation experience representing individuals in complex and high-stakes legal matters. He began his legal career as a public defender, developing a strong foundation in client advocacy, case investigation, and courtroom practice while representing individuals facing serious criminal charges. He went on to serve as an Assistant Circuit Attorney and later as a St. Louis County Counselor, prosecuting violent crimes and domestic violence matters that required careful evaluation and discretion.
Drawing on experience from multiple sides of the legal system, Steven brings a balanced and informed perspective to his representation of clients. His background in both defense and prosecution allows him to assess legal issues with strategic clarity and a practical understanding of how matters are evaluated and resolved. He is known for his professionalism, sound judgment, and a solutions-oriented approach, providing clients with clear guidance and steady advocacy in complex and often high-conflict situations.
Steven earned his Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Missouri–Columbia and his Juris Doctor from Saint Louis University School of Law.
